Licentiate in Literary Subversion & Dissidence (LLSD)
A radical 4-year, 540 CATS credit-equivalent curriculum unifying creative narrative technique with systematic historical and political analysis. No lectures! No exams! No grades! All anarcho-pacifists welcome!
Convened by libertarian socialist Julian Yaqub, the LLSD directly counters mainstream university creative writing programs that reduce narrative art to market-driven aesthetics. By severing creative craft from the rigorous study of contemporary global crises, conventional higher education strips literary art of its radical potential. The LLSD subverts this paradigm by structuring creative writing alongside history and political theory, equipping self-directed scholars to write literature that critiques power and imagines radical social possibilities.
Curriculum Structure & Cognitive Interleaving
This section illustrates how the LLSD integrates cognitive science principles (interleaved learning) and balances theoretical rigor with novel progression across all 4 academic years.

Non-Hierarchical Peer Collective & Self-Assessment Framework
In keeping with Clagsborough College’s libertarian socialist principles, scholars exercise complete autonomy over their work.
Scholars can choose to work alone and/or form voluntary, non-hierarchical reading circles. Critiques should focus on evaluating how effectively craft development is integrated with the writer's growing political consciousness.
No grades, examinations, or formal degree conferrals are issued. Mastery is ascertained exclusively by the scholars ongoing self-evaluation of their own creative writing. How much peer review you need - if any - is up to you.
We believe a creative writer's first duty is to the truth. If characters and world-building are allowed to reflect the material conditions and underlying power dynamics of contemporary societies, fiction can change the world.
